✦ Synopsis

The diastereoselective Michael addition of the title anion to are formed as a result of an unexpected intramolecular transfer of an oxygen atom from the nitro group to the Ξ±-hydrogenand Ξ±-methyl-substituted conjugated nitroalkenes leads to new Ξ³-nitrocarbene complexes and Ξ³-hydrocarbene atom, with elimination of the pentacarbonylchromium(0) group, which is recovered in high yield as the ximoamides, respectively. The Ξ³-nitrocarbene complexes can be quantitatively oxidized to Ξ³-nitrobutyric acid derivatives PyCr(CO) 5 complex. (precursors of GABA derivatives); the Ξ³-hydroximoamides
