Scientific inventiveness, at time diabolical in its ruthlessness plays no less strong a part than does Paquita, the adventuress. Was the death of Maddox retributive for his double life or was it due to the covetousness of some schemer? It required a detective of Craig Kennedy's acumen to discover.
