## Abstract The substituent influence on the ^1^H and ^13^C NMR chemical shifts in 2โsubstituted benzimidazoles and their anions and cations has been investigated. The transmission of the electronic effects of substituents from Cโ2 to Cโ5 (6) is approximately 20% less effective than that in the opp
## Abstract The influence of substituents on the ^13^C NMR chemical shifts of 2โsubstituted 1โmethylbenzimidazoles has been investigated. The electronic effects of the substituents are transmitted to Cโ4 and Cโ7 mainly by the resonance mechanism, and to Cโ5, Cโ6 and __N__โCH~3~, by approximately eq
