✦ Synopsis

In this article, we demonstrated the acousto-optical Qswitching performance of a high-power diode-pumped Nd:GGG laser. The maximum average output power of 2.56 W was obtained at the repetition rate of 15 kHz, and the minimum pulse width of 21 ns was obtained under the pump power of 9.18 W, the peak power and the pulse energy were calculated to be 11.4 kW and 253.6 μJ. The conversion efficiency of the output power from CW to Q-switching operation was amounted to 60.8%.

Up to 1 MHz acousto-optics Q-switching operation was obtained in a grazing-incidence Nd:YVO~4~ laser. At 500 kHz repetition rate, 17.7 W of output power was obtained with 38 W of pump power when 32.4% transmissivity output coupler was used. The beam quality factors were measured as __M__ ^2^ ~x~ < 4

We report on the continuous wave (CW) and passive Q-switching performance of a high-power diode-pumped Nd:GGG laser. A CW output power of 7.20 W was obtained under an absorbed pump power of 14.97 W, which gives a slop efficiency of 52.7%. With a Cr^4+^ doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal as the sa
