β¦ Synopsis
Leaving the observational accuracy of measuring directions in radial triangulation out of consideration, it is evident that the external accuracy of radial triangulation depends on the systematic errors in the directions measured, which are functions of the inclination of the camera and of the terrain-elevations. Influencing the transfer of scale and azimuth in each rhomb, they propagate and accumulate through the whole chain.
Prof. R. Roelofs made a study of the errors in scale-and azimuth-transfer in his article "The future of radial triangulation" .
Here we will study the effect of these errors on the coordinates of the points of the chain.
