✦ Synopsis
The FTIR spectrum of methylene fluoride obtained with a resolution of (\sim 0.005 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}) in the region of the (v_{5}) and (v_{7}) fundamentals has been investigated. More than 100 lines in the (v_{5}\left(a_{2}\right)) "forbidden" band, induced by Coriolis interactions, have been identified and assigned. A simultaneous analysis of the (v_{3}) and (v_{7}) vibration-rotation levels has been carried out taking into account the (c)-axis Coriolis coupling between the two levels. Molecular parameters for the two coupled states as well as the Coriolis coupling constants have been obtained which fit the data with residuals approaching the experimental accuracy.
