✦ Synopsis
The carbon-13 chemical shifts of coordinated bidentate glycinato ligand were measured in a series of seventeen mixed Co(III) complexes. A characteristic effect of trans-ligand on the 13C chemical shifts of the methylene carbon of glycine was observed. The results obtained enable one to distinguish easily between the investigated geometric isomers by means of 13C spectra. On the basis of 13Cand "Co chemical shifts it was established that the chemical shifts of the Co(III) complexes are affected by both electric field and neighbouring anisotropy effect.
