EPR studies of Gd3+ doped in single crystals of ~d*(S04)3.(N~ld)zS04,8Had (hereafter referred to as NASO) at room (RT) and liquid nitiogen (LNT) temperatures exhibit that (1) the metal aqua complex has 3 tetragonal symmetry with abnorrnalIy low magnitudes of crysWine field parame!ers at RT and (2) NASO undergoes a possible phase transition between RT and LNT.
