The bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) has a high density of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH)-containing neurons that are significantly innervated by noradrenergic and dopaminergic nerve terminals. This limbic structure is involved in the extrahypothalamic response to stress. The purpos
