The ratio of the quadrupole moment of the 8 + isomers in 2°2po and 2°4po has been measured in a Pt host using the level mixing spectroscopy method: Q(2t~po)/Q(2°4Po) = 1.06(13). The increase of the 1'o(8 +) quadrupole moments with decreasing neutron number can be explained by explicitly taking into
