✦ Synopsis
A modified form of multi-reference second-order perturbation theory is considered. The nature of the poor convergence of + Moller-Plesset perturbation theory for systems like cyano radical or He* , He:+, OS+ cations is analyzed. Additionally, isomerization of the formaldehyde radical cation and the electronic ground state of ozone are considered in detail. To all of the above cases, a modified form of multi-reference second-order perturbation theory is applied and results re-examined.

A state-selective (intermediate Hamiltonian) formulation of the recently proposed multi-partitioning M~ller-Plesset perturbation theory is presented. The novel approach offers the possibility to combine the decontracted treatment of the reference space parts of wavefunctions with numerical stability
Single-reference closed-shell Møller᎐Plesset perturbation theory is well known for its size consistency, a quality that is essential for consistent comparisons of calculations on molecules of different size. However, it is far from obvious whether this quality can be retained in the multireference c
On the basis of generalized valence bond calculations we propose a new type of structure for the Silo cluster. This structure is found to have large intra-pair correlation effects, suggesting the inadequacy of a single determinant reference wave function in conjunction with Moller-Plesset perturbati
We recently proposed (parts I and II' of this series of publications) a new method of infinite subsummation in the Mlrller-Plesset perturbation series with the objective of "effecting wnvergenee of otherwise divergent series". In the present work we undertake to study the importance of a shift of un
