Abstract
A practical preparation of TM‐α‐terpineol (4), cis‐TM‐β‐terpineol (6c), trans‐TM‐β‐terpineol (6t), TM‐Δ^1,7^,Δ^8^‐menthadiene (7), its spirocyclic epoxide (5), and TM‐isocryptone (8) is described (TM = tetramethyl). Some of the new tetramethylated monoterpenes, unlike the simple C~10~‐monoterpenes, have a woody‐ambergis‐like odour.
