โฆ Synopsis
During recent studies concerning the gross anatomy of the blood vessels of the liver (Elias and Petty, ' 5 2 ) , we were reminded of the fact that the three large hepatic veins which enter the vena c a m caudalis near the heart are not the only hepatic veins. Consequently, injection studies to determine the terminal distribution of the hepatic artery which involve the ligation of "the" hepatic veins may not have been conclusive because not all of the veins had been ligated. The method referred to was devised by Chrzonszczemsky (1866).
