✦ Synopsis

The influence of temperature as one of the major fermentation parameter on growth and L-lysine formation of Corynebacterium glutamicuin 9366 was studied in laboratory scale in the range of 26 "C to 37 "C. The optimum temperature for both biomass yield and product formation has been established to amount 29 "C. At temperatures above 29 "C biomass yield and L-lysine excretion decreased whereby temperatures exceeding 32 "C markedly reduce also the specific L-lysine formation rate and the substrate conversion yicld coefficient.
