โฆ Synopsis
The solution to a simplified /orm of the linearized time-dependent energy equation o] a laminar flame has been considered in order to develop a criterion for the stability of such a flame. It is shown that /or this energy equation the stability is determined by the behaviour of the concentration perturbation. The results also demonstrate that it is not justified without further investigation to assume that the solution to any particular steady-state flame equation is stable.
