A simple route was reported to synthesize various morphological ZnO by selecting different solvents as reaction medium under solvothermal condition. Column-like ZnO microcrystals were obtained in monohydric alcohol, while polyhedral spherical ZnO formed when ethylene glycol with two hydroxyl groups
