โฆ Synopsis
The excimer lifetime rD and the excimer fluorescence efficiency for 1-methylnaphthalene in ethanol have been determined between -30 and 60ยฐC. Expressing the rate constant for escimer deactivation, h-~, in terms of radiative (k&and no~;~;~e,'O"rp )processes askD = ~FD +~ID it is found that.4 . is independent of temperature and k ID=SX 10 exp (-LIE/R TJ set-L ~ where AE = 6.7 kcal mole rP . The behaviour of kp~ and kl~ with temperature and the appearance of isoemissive points in a limited region of temperature are discussed.
