✦ Synopsis


We investigated the temperature dependence of the transport critical current density Jc in a high-temperature superconductor system (Y1_xHOx)Ba2Cu3Oy near the transition temperature T_. When the value of x increases, the superconducting transition becomes broad and then the departure from a linearlity in the curvature of the temperature dependence of Jc becomes very distinct. We discuss this departure in terms of the change to S-N-S junction from S-I-S junction in the present granular high-temperature superconductor system .

We have investigated the dependence of the magnetisation critical current density Jc of Pr-substituted YBa2Cu3Oy on the percentage praseodymium content (for 0, 2, 4 and 8% substitution) using a vibrating sample magnetometer. Although the critical temperature of these pseudo-quaternary compounds Y1 \
