✦ Synopsis
The dependence of the F centre generation kinetics in KBr under XeCl excimer laser irradiation in the temperature region from 90 to 370 K has been investigated. The initial coloration rate as well as the equilibrium colour centre density vary nonmonotonously with temperature, being maximal between 170 to 270 K. The results are interpreted in terms of a model, formerly developed by the authors, assuming that the laser coloration kinetics is determined by an interplay between two-quantum coloration and one-quantum bleaching action of the irradiation.
