✦ Synopsis

The third-order elastic (TOE) constants of cobalt, ruthenium, and erbium have been calculated as a function of temperature using the nearest neighbor central-force model of Srinivasan and Ramji Rao, taking into account the temperature variation of the second-order elastic (SOE) constants of the metal. The Anderson-Griineisen (AG) parameter 8 has been evaluated at different temperatures using the respective TOE constants at each temperature for the three metals. It is found that the A G parameter for these metals does not vary markedly with temperature.
