✦ Synopsis
The formation of IncM plasmid encoded pili is dependent on the incubation temperature of the corresponding host strains.
By labelling the short, rigid M pili with the donor specific bacteriophage DM, the presence of pili a t 30 "C but not a t 37 "C incubation temperature could be demonstrated for E. coli K12 substrains carrying different IncM group plasmids. In contrast, such a temperature dependence of M pilus formation is not observed in S. typhimurium substrains.

## Abstract We show that temperature is an important parameter for the sensitivity of saturation transfer difference (STD) spectroscopy. A decreased intensity of STD signals is observed for lactose binding to growth‐regulatory galectin7 (p53‐induced gene 1), as well as for nucleotide binding to ann
## Abstract By using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) we were able to follow the sequence of ultrastructural alterations of the luminal surface which occurred when specimens of canine carotid artery were subjected to controlled transmural pressures. Specimens of carotid artery were removed from d
