✦ Synopsis

An apparatus to measure ac losses in superconducting materials as a function of temperature has been constructed. The ac losses are determined by measuring the temperature rise of a thermally isolated sample. Preliminary data have been obtained on a Nb Ti single filament. The temperature variation of the ac loss can be attributed to the linear temperature variation of Jc.
