✦ Synopsis

Raman intensity ratios of the librational lattice modes in anthracenc and naphtbalene single crystals were measured as functions of temperature and pressure using a well defined configuration. Results are understood on the basis of thermal expansion and elastic constants data. Agreement is found between calculated and memred intensity ratios.
