Abstract
The inhibiting action at 0° and 37° C of a number of Catalase H‐Donors on the purified liver enzyme has been compared using FEINSTEIN's perborate‐method. Furthermore the effect of enzyme preincubation with inhibitor has been investigated.
According to the dependency of the I~50~‐values on temperature, the inhibitors can be divided in three groups; with the exception of 3‐Amino‐l,2,4‐triazole, they all inhibit the more the lower the temperature. This influence is pronounced in azide and formate; it is slight however in 2,4‐Dichlorphenol and Hydroxylamine.
Under certain conditions formate, acting as a stabilisor of complex I, does not inhibit but causes an apparent increase in catalatic activity.
