✦ Synopsis

Techniques of reducing the oscillator noise of an acti¨e patch antenna are discussed. These include using different depthmetallized ca¨ities, higher dielectric constant substrate, and a low-noise acti¨e de¨ice. Experimental results show that the most effecti¨e method among these is using a deep ca¨ity by which 38 dB noise reduction has been achie¨ed.
