✦ Synopsis
The technical aspects of the excitation sculpting sequence with modiÐcation for multiple solvent suppression are analyzed in detail. Proper choice of parameters for these experiments yields spectra with almost complete absence of solvent signals. The bleached regions centered at the solvent resonances are minimized by an appropriate selection of shape and length for the soft 180¡ shifted laminar pulses. Novel variants of the basic experiment with improved performance for analysis of compounds dissolved in waterÈalcohol mixtures are reported. Application of these schemes to a 2 mM solution of a-yohimbine in and and to a few H 2 OÈCH 3 CN H 2 OÈEtOH lM solution derived from a natural product extract in are presented.
