FILMS

These are super 8 mrn copies of the Kodachrome films used in teaching mineralogy in the Geology Department of the University of Liverpool. Each film runs for about four to five minutes at standard speed. They are a concentrated series of optical experiments run off at such a rate that for use in instruction they have to be frequently stopped to allow students to study the images and the teacher to point out the various features. The films contain no explanations or even sub-titles, but an explanatory sheet is supplied with each. They are ideal for illustrating lectures, for demonstrations during practicals, and for tests, especially when used with reversible variable speed projectors. They are described in the Journal of Geological Education 1974,22,102-3.
