The generation of a frequency comb of optical signals with equal frequency spacing has been demonstrated in a semiconductor-fiber ring laser. A simplified theoretical approach based on cascade ca¨ity-enhanced four-wa¨e mixing in a semiconductor optical amplifier is gi¨en, and potential applications
