A tandem hydrofoil system enables an improvement in the lift-drag ratio of a high-speed ship. The conditions for favorable application of this type of foil structure are determined. The data on hydrofoil boats using a tandem system are presented. The problem of the stability of the vertical plane motion of a hydrofoil with bow and stern foils is considered. The general conditions providing the stability are obtained.
