On August 29, 250 years ago, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the German poet, dramatist, science enthusiast, sensualist, lawyer, and official on the court of Duke Karl August of Sachsen-Weimar, was born in Frankfurt in Germany. He died in 1832 at 83 years of age. The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche said about him: "Goethe is not only a good and great human being, he is a culture."
