Two brothers (Nathan is 26 years old and Jay is 14) have survived seven years since an apocalyptic event shattered the world.Their parents were away on a trip and never returned, so they have survived by themselves. Humanity succumbed slowly to its selfishness as resources were limited, and now people will kill you without even asking about your intentions. The older brother, Nathan, has been battered by adversity, losing loved ones to humanity's evil, into a cold-hearted survivor. Therefore, he protects his younger brother from reality by forbidding him from leaving their house. Nathan hunts, gathers, and protects their home from the dangerous outsiders, while James stays behind training without really understanding why, taking care of their house and tending to the few crops they have in their backyard. One doomed day, Nathan spots something in a neighboring house which could tip the scale of survival in their favor. He risks everything... and fails. Consequently, James has to take the hardest decision of his life, either go out and try to rescue his brother from an unforgiving world he does not understand or stay behind and risk losing him forever. Jay's decision will lead to consequences that will make them venture into a cruel world, where humanity and civilization have collapsed.
