✦ Synopsis

This one day symposium gave delegates an up to date view of the computational methods available to study heterogeneous catalyst problems. I am reminded of a quotation by Max Planck who said "Experiments are the only means of knowledge at our disposal. The rest is poetry, imagination". All one can say having seen the power of modelling techniques is that poetry and imagination have a lot going for them. After all as Keats wrote:

"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the truth of imagination -what the imagination seizes as beauty must be truth -whether it existed before or not".
