✦ Synopsis
The present volume is one of a series of tables compiled by the Computation Laboratory of the National Bureau of Standards. An excellent introduction enables the reader to use the tables intelligently and to understand their construction. The main part of the book is comprised of: tables of the characteristic values bet(s) and bor(s); tables of coefficients Dek(s) and Dok(s); a table of joining factors; values of E2(p) and F~(p), p = E0(.001)I; 7D]; values of ½p(1 -p); sines and cosines 0(1°)90°; and multiples of ½~r. The work is an outgrowth of the program begun under the auspices of the Applied Mathematics Panel, NDRC, to provide more adequate tables of the elliptic cylinder functions, and will be enthusiastically received.
