Australia, to a rare earths separation plant that the company will construct in Kuantan, Malaysia, for completion in 1H 2011. The separated product will be transported to Rhodia's formulation facilities in Cincinnati, OH, USA; Kobe, Japan; and La Rochelle, France. The project will initially add 11,000 tonne/y of rare earth products on the market, and over 20,000 tonne/y of rare earth products in the second phase. The global rare earth market is estimated at €1.2-1.5 bn/y ($1.5-1.9 bn) and is expanding by 5-10%/y.
