In this paper, existence of weak solutions of second order evolution equations is proved and some properties of the solutions are shown. The results are applied to higher order nonlinear hyperbolic functional differential equations.

โฆ Synopsis
The aim of this paper is to discuss the asymptotic properties of the coefficients of generating functions which satisfy a system of functional equations. It turns out that under certain general conditions these coefficients are related to the distribution of a multivariate random variable that is asymptotically normal. As an application it turns out that the distribution of the terminal symbols in context-free languages is typically asymptoti-ลฝ .
