β¦ Synopsis
Botulinum toxin (Oculinum) was injected intramuscularly into eight monkeys. The LD50 dose is estimated to be approximately 39 U/kg body weight. The lowest dose that caused systemic toxicity, 33 U/kg, was close to the fatal dose range, 38-42 U/kg.

## Abstract Botulinum toxin A (BoNTβA) is a potent biological toxin widely used for the management of skeletal muscle spasticity or dynamic joint contracture. Intramuscular injection of BoNTβA causes muscle denervation, paresis, and atrophy. This clinical effect of botulinum toxin A lasts 3 to 6 mo
## Abstract Camptocormia is characterized by an abnormal posture of the trunk with pronounced flexion of the thoracoβlumbar spine during standing and walking, which abates in a supine position. Treatment options for camptocormia are limited and mostly futile. Here, we report on the ultrasoundβguide
## Abstract We studied 20 patients with cervical dystonia who had started to respond poorly to botulinum toxin A (BTXA) injections after an initial good response. All patients had extensor digitorum brevis (EDB) tests performed in addition to BTXA immunoprecipition assay (IPA) and mouse bioassay (M
Immunoresistance (Ab+) to botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) has been a serious concern since the introduction of BTX-A in the treatment of dystonia and other disorders associated with abnormal muscle contractions. We studied seven patients who developed Ab+ and later reverted to antibody-negative (Ab-)
