Object-oriented programming is the most used programming paradigm when dealing with large-scale, modular software. In this ΓΏeld, the two leading languages are Java and C++. The former has superior qualities in terms of safety and ease of programming, whereas the latter is often considered an "old" l

β¦ Synopsis
We introduce a new type system called "System ST" (ST stands for subtyping), based on subtyping, and prove the basic property of the system. We show the extraordinary expressive power of the system which leads us to think that it could be a good candidate for doing both proof and extraction of programs.

## Abstract A simple realβtime control system for furrow irrigation is proposed that predicts the infiltration characteristic of the soil in real time using data measured during an irrigation event, simulates the irrigation, and determines the optimum time to cutβoff for that irrigation. The basis
This work defines a new class of hybrid systems called state-based switched (SBS) systems that have numerous important engineering applications. The characterizing feature of these systems is that the discrete-event dynamics are associated with the continuous-time state making a specific function be
In this paper, we investigate a smoothing-type algorithm with a nonmonotone line search for solving a system of equalities and inequalities. We prove that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally and locally superlinearly convergent under suitable assumptions. The preliminary numerical results are repo
