Simulation models are currently used to predict environmental impacts. However, models must be adapted to the peculiarities of the given situation and one of these adaptations consists in the calibration of certain model parameters. The calibration is made by an optimization technique in which param

โฆ Synopsis
This paper presents the results of an investigation to determine the effect -of several error-criteria and -of the frequency range of the input signal on the convergence, accuracy and speed of parameter estimation. A generalized model is used. The model parameters are adjusted according to a steepest descent path. First and second order processes with two to five parameters are considered.
