✦ Synopsis
The title compounds, a dioxo (XVIII) and a tetraoxoderivative (VI) of a new diindenoanthracene, are synthesized in several steps (overall yield 35 and 26%, respectively) starting from 2,3-dimethyl-1,4-diphenyl-butadiene-l, 3 (VIII). The corresponding hydrocarbon could not be obtained by reduction.
Des trois bis-indCno-anthracknes I, I1 et 111, rksultant formellement de l'accolement de deux molCcules d'indkne par leur cycle pentagonal sur le m$me cycle hexagonal de l'anthrache, les deux premiers, soit le dihydr0-5,16-bis-indCno[Z, l-a ; 2'. 1'-clanthracbne (I) et le dihydro-9,16-bis-indCno[2.1-a; 1'2'-clanthradne (11) ont ktC dCcrits rkcemment [Z] [l]. La construction du troisikme systkme, celui du dihydro-15,16-bis-indkno[l.2-a; T.1'-clanthrache (111), fait l'objet du prCsent mkmoire.
