Abstract

The absolute configuration of the microbial metabolite (−)‐koninginin A (2‐hexyloctahydro‐2__H__‐3,9a‐epoxy‐1‐benzoxe‐pine‐6,9‐diol, 1) is shown to have the configuration 2__S__,3__S__,6__R__,9__S__ by its synthesis employing the Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation.
