## Abstract Vanadium oxide nanorods were prepared by a hydrothermal route and then tested as a transducer for a resistive‐type gas sensor. The importance of control of pH and pressure during the synthesis of 1D crystals of vanadium oxide was demonstrated for the V~2~O~5~/ethanol mixture, which serv

Spherical porous vanadium pentoxide (V 2 O 5 ) phase is synthesized by a spray-pyrolysis method followed by heat-treatment, as confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction. Under high-resolution electron microscope observation, the as-prepared particles are spherical and porous, with uniform particle size.
