โฆ Synopsis
Five new metal transition metal complexes formed with tripodal polyimidazole ligand tri{2-2-(1-methyl)imidazolyethyl}amine ((min) 3 tren), [Zn(min) 4), and [Mn(min) 3 tren](ClO 4 ) 2 โขCH 3 CN (5) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductances, IR and electronic spectra. Analytical results show 1โถ1 metal-ligand stoichiometry and 2โถ1 type of electrolyte in all metal complexes. The crystal structures of 4 and 5 have been determined. The metal atoms in 4 and 5, being in distorted [MN 6 ] octahedra, are coordinated with three imine nitrogen atoms and three imidazole nitrogen atoms.
