✦ Synopsis

Eight novel thioesters were obtained and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, infrared and NMR spectroscopy. The data were analyzed on the basis of the relevant resonance structures. The X-ray single crystal structure of o-methoxythiophenyl 4methylbenzoate is reported.
