โฆ Synopsis
Four compounds of the type [ ( o -R N H -C , H ~C O O ) ( C H ~C H ~C H ~C H ~) ~S ~] ~O and [(o-CH3NH-CgHqCOO)(CH3)2Sn]120 have been prepared, characterized by 'H, 13C, ' 19Sn NMR, and by
Mbssbauer and mass spectrometry. They have been tested in vifro against two human tumour cell lines, nl. MCF-7 (mammary tumour) and WiDr (colon carcinoma), and found to score slightly better than cis-platin but markedly less than other cytostatic agents.
lntroductlon
We recently described the synthesis, characterization and antitumour activity of diorganotinbis(orthoaminobenzoates) and of some of their N-substituted derivatives('). They appeared to be more active in vitro than cis-platin against MCF-7 and gave IDs0 values comparable to those obtained for cis-platin against WiDr. Therefore we decided to prepare some corresponding bis(ortho-aminobenzoatodi-nbutyltin) oxides.
