XRD measurements proved the coexistence of spinel, lithiumrich spinel, and rock-salt phases in the Li-Mn-O system. An investigation of the electrical properties, carried out on polycrystalline samples, shows that Li 2 MnO 3 has insulating behavior while the spinel phases provide an example of hoppin
Boron carbide (B 4 C) added manganese dioxide (MnO 2 ) used as a cathode material for a Zn-MnO 2 battery using aqueous lithium hydroxide (LiOH) as the electrolyte is known to have higher discharge capacity but with a lower average discharge voltage than pure MnO 2 (additive free). The performance is
## Abstract Nanocrystalline LiMn~2~O~4~ is synthesized from aqueous solutions of Mn(OAc)~2~, LiNO~3~, citric acid, and urea (calcination at 350 °C for 12 h) and by solid state reaction of a stoichiometric mixture of Li~2~CO~3~ and Mn~2~O~3~ (850 °C, 24 h).
