✦ Synopsis
Bromination of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin, H 2 TPP with controlled amounts of N-bromosuccinimide at ambient conditions in CHCl 3 produced b-dibromo and tribromotetraphenylporphyrins. The regiochemistry of the ZnTPPR 3 (R = Br, Ph) complexes indicate the antipodal substitution at the b-pyrrole positions.
