A novel polymer-supported metallocene catalyst with crosslinked poly(styrene-co-acrylamide) (PSAm) as the support has been prepared and characterized. The probability of long sequences of acrylamide (Am) in PSAm is still low even at an Am amount of 32.8 mol %, implying the relatively homogeneous dis

β¦ Synopsis
A new class of organometallic polymer having a backbone of conjugated Poly-yne and Zr-metal atoms has been prepared. Trichloroethylene (TCE) and Hexachlorobutadiene (HCB) are quantitatively converted by n-butyllithium to dilithioacetylene (LiC'CLi) and dilithiodiacetylene (LiOC'COC'COLi) respectively. Quenching with Cp 2 *ZrCl 2 affords high yields of the polymers [ -Zr(Cp 2 *)C'C]n and [ -Zr(Cp 2 *)C'COC'C]n where Cp* Ο C 5 (CH 3 ) 5 Ο pentamethyl cyclopentadienyl. The Cp 2 *ZrCl 2 and the polymers were characterized by viscosity, molecular weight, elemental analysis, FTIR, NMR spectra, and TGA.

The use of crosslinked poly(styrene-co-4-vinylpyridine) having functional groups as the support for zirconocene catalysts in ethylene polymerization was studied. Several factors affecting the activity of the catalysts were examined. Conditions like time, temperature, Al/N (molar ratio), Al/Zr (molar
