Hydrosoluble Calix[4]
arenes-bis-crown-6 2a, 3a and 3b have been synthesised in two steps via formylation and chlorosulfonylation of 1. Cs +-Ligand interactions were studied in aqueous media by UV-Visible analysis and showed a good affinity between receptor 2a and the caesium ion.
