A new delafossite type oxide CuInO 2 was synthesized by cation exchange reaction of CuCl with LiInO 2 , which was produced from Li 2 O and In(OH) 3 . An almost single phase was obtained at 3503C for 144 h. The structure of CuInO 2 was re5ned by Rietveld analysis and the 5nal S value became 1
