## Abstract The novel compact dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) by using diverse quarter‐wavelength (λ/4) resonators for global position system (GPS)/wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed for the first time. The use of two interdigital‐like λ/4 resonators of the proposed BPF eff

Abstract
This article deals with the design of dual‐mode ring resonator fed by quarter wavelength coupled‐lines and its applications for bandpass filters. A specific synthesis was developed for ring‐based resonator which made ease the design of further bandpass filters. Three compact bandpass filters were designed at 2 GHz. Comparison between experiments and simulated results proved both synthesis accuracy and QSCR‐based filters efficiency toward electrical performances and size reduction. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
